Before registering for Summer Swim Lessons, a Swim Assessment is required for ages 5 and over. Call 678-721-5470 to schedule.
American Red Cross has developed swimming lessons for kids and adults that allow everyone the opportunity to learn in a safe environment, at their own pace. Learn-to-Swim classes are taught by certified and knowledgeable instructors who can help swimmers at every level feel comfortable in the water and progress to the next level.
Refunds: A $25.00 administrative fee will be deducted from all refunds. No refunds will be given after class begins. All refunds must be approved by the Cartersville Parks & Recreation Director.

Parent/Child - Ages: 6 months-3 years
Parents must accompany the child in the water. Teaches children at a young age to feel comfortable in the water while teaching parents games and songs to play with their children.

Preschool - Ages: 3 & 4 years
A fun class for this special age group. Teaches children water safety and basic swimming skills. Parents are not required to be in the pool.

Level 1: Introduction to Water Skills
Class is for beginner swimmers. Students will learn how to be safe in, on and around the water and practice learning different swimming skills with the help of a swim instructor.

Level 2: Fundamentals of Aquatic Skills
Children will build upon previous swim knowledge they have learned and start using their swimming skills to propel themselves through the water with limited help from a swim instructor.

Level 3: Stroke Development
Additional guided practice will help students improve their skills.
|
Level 4: Stroke Improvement
Stroke Improvement: Kids will gain confidence during swim lessons, improve their stroke and gain additional aquatic skills.

Level 5: Stroke Refinement
Guidance allows kids to refine their strokes and become more efficient swimmers.
